If you are allergic to LIDOCAINE, Epinephrine (other numbing agents) or tattoo ink, we cannot perform any Cosmetic Tattoo services on you.  Lido & Epi are some of the types on numbing agents we use.

• You are currently pregnant or breast feeding
• Must be 18+ years of age (per Oregon State Law)
• Must have valid ID at time of appointment
• History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring
• Diabetic (require doctor’s note)
• You have Cancer and/or undergoing Chemotherapy/Radiation (require doctor’s note)
• Viral infections and/or diseases
• Epilepsy, Pacemaker or major heart problems
• Organ transplant
• Skin irritations ear the treated area, such as; Psoriasis, Rosacea, Eczema, Dermatitis, acne in your brows, sun damaged/sunburn etc.
• Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
• Accutane or Retin-A in the past 12 months
• Botox/Fillers; 3 weeks before and after appointment
• Heart conditions and/or uncontrolled High Blood Pressure
• Poor general health
• Any medical condition, treatment, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system (as it would compromise the healing process).
• Allergic to numbing creams or ink/pigments (contains metals)

Clients with any of these conditions should contact their doctor to determine if they can have this procedure. (we cannot make this determination for you.  you must consult your medical professional).

• Anticoagulants (blood thinners)
• Anemia, Thyroid, hormonal problems
• Glaucoma, any eyes diseases
• Heart conditions (Mitral Valve Prolapse, Artificial Heart Valves, Artificial Joints)
• Herpes Simplex (blisters/cold sores) you may experience an outbreak after lip procedures (consult with doctor antiviral prescription before and after treatment)
• Vitiligo
• Steroids can make skin fragile. Physician-strength meds/treatments that affect the dermal layer of the skin can affect Permanent Makeup. OTC meds/treatments that only affect the epidermis and are not much concern
• Long-term use of painkillers (aspirin, ibuprofen), some herbs (increase bleeding and bruising)
• Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure
• Any treatment, medication, or illness of the immune system
• Any physical, mental, or medical impairment or disability
• If you suffer any medical condition always consult with a doctor.

Semi-permanent make-up, also known as micropigmentation, is a form of temporary cosmetic tattooing that utilizes pharmaceutical grade pigments that are applied with a tattoo machine beneath the surface of the skin.  Used to enhance, correct and contour eyes, brows and lips.  This pigment will stay in the skin for a number of years, gradually breaking down and fading over time.

Am I a good candidate for Semi-Permanent Makeup?  As long as the procedure area is healthy, non-sensitive and non-irritated, you can receive tattoo services. If you have had previous surgical work or tattoo services in the area before, please send us a photo of your face in GOOD lighting (outdoor is usually best), so we we can see your brows, lips etc prior to scheduling. If you are accustomed to BOLDER looks (applied with makeup), you will still need to do so even with the application of PMU services.   Cosmetic tattooing is an enhancement, not a complete replacement for topical makeup.  Healed pigment IN the skin cannot fully replicate the vibrancy of color that topical makeup produces ON the skin.

Also … The more ink particles that are packed into the skin, the less control you have over the color as your procedure ages over time.  

Powder Brows is the only semi-permanent makeup service suitable for ALL SKIN TYPES, (even oily skin).  The “ideal candidate” for Micro-Blading is only about 30% of those wanting a brow tattoo service. It is not recommended for mature skin types, oily skin, those with large pores, very pale or highly melanated skin.   Over time, those “hair-like” strokes will fade or bleed together and end up looking like a splotchy semi-powder brow anyway and often very dark gray/blue.  If you’re in LOVE with “hair strokes” you should look into “nano-brows” .. its hair strokes done with a machine and NOT a blade, so they last longer and don’t cause scarring.

In my personal opinion, I believe that Microblading is too harsh (it was a “fad” technique that got too popular too fast and is now slowly dying out due to the amount of botched brows walking around).  The results I see . . . Just 6 months to a year down the road are dark, gray/blue/black brows that are blotchy and harsh and no longer look like “hair strokes” and cant even be corrected at this point.  They need REMOVAL to get rid of the ink, cuz its too deep in the skin.  Once the ink has turned that dark gray/blue/black color there is NO WAY to bring it back to a brown or blonde or whatever color it was before.  It HAS TO BE REMOVED.  PERIOD.

100% of the requests I receive for “corrections” or to “fix” brows, is Microblading.  Im just really not a fan due to the amount of BAD brows I’ve seen over and over.  If you like the “hair stroke” technique, find a nano-brow artist (I dont perform this technique).  You will be MUCH happier with the long term results.

If you happen to have little to no hair, Powder Brows are great for you as it provides a more shaded effect and will give you a more realistic looking eyebrow. Powder Brows are also great for people with hair as well, especially if you’re looking to add more dimension and shape.     The Powdered Brow technique lasts 1-3 years based on your lifestyle, skin type, UV exposure and after care.
